See a Site from Ground Level

Check frontage, access points, boundary treatments and general condition without needing to physically visit the site.

Cross-Check Map Data

Verify what a data layer is telling you — for example, confirming a right of way is a visible, usable path, or spotting features not captured in the mapped data.

How to Use Street View

  1. Open the map on Maplify.
  2. Search or navigate to the location you want to check.
  3. Select the Street View tool from the toolbar.
  4. Drop the view onto a point on the map.
  5. Pan around the ground-level imagery to inspect the site.

Worked Example

A prospective buyer reviews a rural property before booking a viewing:

  • Street View confirms the access lane is a made-up track rather than an unmade road, as the listing description suggested.
  • A pylon visible in the imagery, not mentioned in the listing, is flagged for a question to the agent.
  • The buyer proceeds to book a viewing with more informed expectations about the site.

Data Source, Coverage and Updates

SourceGround-level panoramic imagery available for the mapped location.
CoverageDenser in towns and along main roads; availability can be limited in some rural areas.
RefreshImagery is refreshed periodically as new captures become available.

Important Limitations

  • Street View coverage is not available everywhere and can be sparse in rural areas.
  • Imagery may be several years old and may not reflect the current condition of a site.
  • This is a visual reference only, not a substitute for an in-person site visit.

Street View is often used alongside Historic Imagery, Measure Distance & Area, the Land Insights Pane and Site Reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Street View tool?

It drops you into ground-level, panoramic imagery for a chosen point on the map, so you can see a site's frontage, access and surroundings without a site visit.

Do I need to leave the map to use Street View?

No — Street View opens within Maplify alongside the map, so you can switch back and forth without losing your place.

Is Street View available everywhere?

Coverage depends on where ground-level imagery has been captured, so availability is denser in towns and along main roads than in some rural areas.

Why would I use Street View alongside data layers?

It helps sanity-check what a map layer is telling you — for example, confirming a boundary against what is visibly on the ground, or checking access before a site visit.

Is Street View free to use?

Yes, viewing Street View imagery on Maplify is free.
