Distance and Path Length
Click two points for a straight-line distance and bearing, or add more points to trace a path and get its total length — useful for checking access routes or boundary lengths.
Perimeter and Area
Click three or more points to enclose a shape and see both its perimeter and area, in metres, acres or hectares.
How to Measure on the Map
- Open the map on Maplify.
- Select the Measure tool from the toolbar.
- Choose Distance, Path or Perimeter mode.
- Click points on the map to build your measurement.
- Read the result in your preferred unit, shown live as you add points.
- Clear the points to start a new measurement.
Worked Example
A buyer wants to check whether a garden is large enough for a rear extension:
- Using Perimeter mode, they click around the garden boundary to get an enclosed area of 210 m² (0.05 acres).
- Switching to Distance mode, they check the depth available behind the house is 8.4 metres.
- These figures are used as an initial sanity check before commissioning an architect's survey.
How Measurements Are Calculated

Important Limitations
- Measurements are calculated from clicked map coordinates — accurate for screening, but not a substitute for a licensed survey.
- Base map imagery resolution can affect how precisely you can place a point.
- Measured areas do not account for changes in ground elevation.
